PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

“The only person who is educated is the one who had learned how to learn ……… and change”, so stated American psychologist Carl Rogers and today more than ever the aim of educationist is to teach students how to learn, while adopting to the ‘new normal’.

As someone who began her journey as a school coordinator with this school, I feel as if I have come a full circle in these many years! I have seen MLZS, Gwalior grow and I have grown to know and love this exceptional school where diversity in ability, talent and thought is celebrated, this unique place where children are nurtured to discover, grow and build on their individual strengths.

The thought that ‘one learning fits all’ is outdated and is the root cause of student disengagement and poor learning outcomes. It has no place in the agenda for future education at MLZS, Gwalior. Upholding our aim that each and every individual has a unique potential, I firmly believe that students need to become co-creators or partners in their own learning.

In our school, we strive to create an optimum blend of academics, sports, extra curricular activities, personality building, life skills, creativity, analytical thinking and more. All along, we inculcate the finest human and social values in each student, teaching them not just right from wrong, but how to stay on the path of virtue and integrity. We teach the importance of compassion, inclusion and generosity, we help them understand their duties and responsibilities as a citizen and a nation builder.

My raison d'être as a school head would therefore be to nurture a community that is characterized by positive relationships between teachers and students, a place where genuine respect is natural, and where all students feel they belong. My role and that of everyone on this campus, is quite simple: to inspire and to be inspired by the community, students and staff, working towards a higher ideal.

Upholding the school’s motto of ‘Great School, Great Future’, I shall endevour to continue to provide our students an environment that cultivates global citizenship, social commitment, an open and critical mind-set, an environment that exudes trust and respect, nurtures the spirit of inquiry and commits to authenticity, perfection and lifelong learning.
